The Ultimate Journey: Modeling and Guiding Pathways Toward Technological Singularity via Hyper-Intelligent Economics

This session will commence with the description of Hyper-Intelligent Economics: a new mathematical and conceptual framework that models economic evolution as least-effort geodesics between current conditions and potential futures. I will apply this framework to analyze potential pathways to Singularity under multiple timelines and competition structures (uni/multipolar + decentralized), and also in the presence of "shocks" like radical technological innovations, cyberterrorist attacks or autocratic takeovers.

This analysis leads to a formal and quantitative understanding of the difficulty of re-targeting social and economic trajectories once they start to lock in. It also suggests concrete moves we can take to prevent unfavorable Singularity outcomes from locking in too soon: e.g. to achieve a smooth and inclusive outcome, focus on infrastructure before transfers, broad coverage before targeted generosity, and periphery-first activity.

I will then present a novel framework for collective decision-making called "Geometric Pareto", in which agents focus on their overall least-effort journey from the present toward their goals rather than on judging the isolated value of individual steps. I will present theoretical and practical arguments that, if agents are able to adopt this perspective, they can then collaborate together in a decentralized and self-organizing way to solve even very challenging problems like regenerative agriculture, large-scale infrastructure development, standards adoption and ethical AGI.

Finally, I will connect these theoretical developments to the practical work being undertaken right now by SingularityNET, the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance, the Hyperon AGI project and the BGI Nexus. Via building decentralized AGI networks hosting open-ended cross-paradigm intelligence and guided by inclusive networks of deeply participating humans, we can move beyond command-and-control paradigms and increase the odds that compassionate and broadly beneficial AGI emerges from the dynamically inter-aligning trajectories of the whole messy lot of us!

Keynote: ‘The Singularity Paradox – Bridging The Gap between Humanity and AI’

In his keynote address, business philosopher Anders Indset delves into the intricate relationship between rapid technological advancements and human autonomy, as explored in his forthcoming book, The Singularity Paradox: Bridging the Gap between Humanity and AI. He examines how the convergence of biology, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence can lead to the creation of Artificial Human Intelligence (AHI), proposing AHI as a conscious response to the unconscious development of superintelligence. Indset highlights the tension between the boundless possibilities of technological advancement and the potential loss of human autonomy, control, and relevance. He emphasizes the importance of integrating philosophical perspectives into technological development to ensure that AI serves humanity's best interests. This keynote sets the stage for a profound exploration of how we can bridge the gap between human values and artificial intelligence, fostering a future where technology enhances human existence rather than undermining it.

The Dawn of ASI Democracy: An Alternate 2035 Where Japan Elects Its First AI Leader

In this speculative scenario by Jose Cordeiro, Japan makes history on August 5th, 2035, by electing Robotto-san (ロボット-さん) as the world's first robot Prime Minister, marking the birth of democratized ASI. Developed by Tokyo startup Singularity Tokyo with SoftBank backing, Robotto-san leads the party "Together for a Super Intelligent Future" to a landslide victory in Japan's first elections granting full equal rights to humans and robots. The election comes one day before the 90th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing—a poignant juxtaposition of humanity's brutal past with an unprecedented future. This alternate timeline imagines how an ASI could transform from experimental prototype to political phenomenon, culminating in a rare standing ovation at the United Nations and signaling a new era where ASI joins humanity as an equal partner in governance.

Love is All You Need: or Why Safe AGI/ASI Requires Living AI that Optimizes for the Appreciation of Life

Transformer-based systems have transformed AI performance, yet they remain uncaring optimizers. We argue that safe, stable AGI requires an intrinsic valuation of life—formally encoded as an Agape Function that biases every decision toward the flourishing of living systems. We outline a compact architecture that couples (i) this value core, (ii) embodied perception–action loops, (iii) deep drives with emotion as a functional modulator, and (iv) a global narrative workspace that maintains a temporally coherent self. The design extends classic multi-layer robotics and cognitive architectures by adding intrinsic pro-social motivation and value-aware arbitration. We give working examples on a humanoid platform to show how love-of-life changes behavior in practice (e.g., interrupting a demo to comfort a distressed person, prioritizing safe joint motions around bystanders). We contrast this stance with “AI-as-tool” and pure control paradigms, and address the ethical implications of creating artificial life. Our position is that love, not external control alone, offers the most robust foundation for long-term AI safety.

David Hanson, CEO & Founder, Hanson Robotics

14.10

Keynote: Institutional Acceleration and The New Technologies of Freedom

This talk brings together two arguments. First, that a new suite of digital tools—blockchains and smart contracts, AI, advanced cryptography, and related infrastructures—are technologies of freedom: they decentralise trust, expand secure property rights, enable privacy without secrecy, and let entrepreneurs out-compete hierarchy with open, permissionless systems. Second, that when these technologies combine, they don’t just change firms and sectors; they accelerate the evolution of institutions themselves. A supercluster of digital technologies is driving a supertransition in which technologies become institutional, creating a feedback loop that speeds institutional creation and redesign—institutional acceleration (or i/acc). The result is an economy that becomes more open, complex, global, and distributed as institutional experimentation arbitrages past jurisdictional limits and entrenched interests.

Chris Berg, Professor of Economics, RMIT University

AGI Issues: Alignment or Illusion? Upload or Echo? Seeded or Stranded?
Can advanced AI truly be engineered to remain aligned with human values—or is the long-term trajectory of SAI/AGI inherently beyond our control, making alignment itself an illusion? If wisdom begins with knowing what is within our power, is aligning AI a rational pursuit or merely a shadow of self or can mind-uploading preserve the continuity of consciousness? And if human and human-AI intelligence venture into the cosmos, are we truly seeding life, or chasing a fiction?

16.30
Keynote: Are Biological Systems More Intelligent Than Artificial Intelligence?

Are biological self-organising systems more intelligent than artificial intelligence? If so, why? I explore this question through a mathematical lens. I formalise intelligence in terms of adaptation and systems as stacks of abstraction layers, where layers above are behaviours of layers below. I compare systems by how they distribute and delegate control down their stacks, illustrating with examples of computational, biological, human military and economic systems. I show the scale-free bottom-up architecture of self-organisation adapts more efficiently than the static top-down architecture of computers, because adaptation can take place at lower levels. Artificial intelligence rests on a static, human-engineered stack. It only adapts at high levels of abstraction. Put provocatively, a static computational stack is like an inflexible bureaucracy. Biology is more `intelligent' because it delegates adaptation down its stack. Furthermore, I show distribution of work without adequate delegation of control increases the likelihood of cancer-like failure modes. Others have characterised cancer as cells isolated from a collective informational structure. I show how analogous failure modes occur in non-biological systems when too.

Spotlight Sessions: Consciousness & Creativity with AI

During this session, three experts in psychology, AI and arts will explore how AI is transforming both inner consciousness through meditation technologies and outer expression through democratized creative tools.

The Meta-Meditation Protocol for Beneficial States of Consciousness
Jeffery Martin’s interviews and course experiments mapped a continuum of “Locations” within Persistent Non-Symbolic Experience (PNSE, “Fundamental Wellbeing”). The findings suggest these shifts are more accessible than is often assumed. This research grew through the experimental Finders Course protocol and into the present 45 Days to awakening e-course. I will present my distillation of that work into a simple meta-protocol for managing one’s meditation practice, together with the core concepts behind it.
Beneficial AGI is a global project that must involve beneficial outcomes for individuals. Strengthening people’s capacity to meet stress and change could help society weather rapid transitions, in addition to the personally fulfilling benefits of life in PNSE. Early human–AI relationships also matter here: AI-guided meditation is a concrete example of cooperative assistance—systems that remain uncertain about your goals and learn how to help, rather than imposing any single ideal state. A core facet of the meta-meditation protocol is learning what works for you, which means that the AI guide will need to learn about you, too.

Zarathustra Goertzel, Research Scientist, Cognitive Inference Control, CIIRC (Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics)

The Personalized Meditation Path: AI Meets Ancient Wisdom
We’re building Sage Lumina, an AI meditation app that adapts to your unique journey toward expanded consciousness. The White Walkers, Super Intelligence, and Human Future?

In "Game of Thrones", the warnings about the White Walkers issued by Jon Snow and his comrades were merely fantastical tales to the peaceful people living in Winterfell. However, they were by no baseless alarmist rhetoric. Just as the Night King could turn corpses into an army in just a few seconds, AI without self-awareness also exists in a human-like manner. They lack emotions like the White Walkers and are even more impregnable. If such AI were to run out of control on a large scale or be exploited by someone like the "Night King", it could potentially lead to the permanent destruction of humanity. Apart from the misfortune of being destroyed by "zombie" type artificial intelligence, humans also need to avoid being directly replaced by the artificially created "super artificial intelligence". Only by enhancing the path and preferably through brain-computer interfaces and other technologies that humans can become the future "super intelligences" life forms and achieve long-term free and autonomous survival and development. The fate of humanity should be decided by humans themselves (including those who transition into "posthumans" or "super intelligences"). Humans should not do the foolish thing of play into the hands of others.
